TapThoq Privacy Policy

1. What TapThoq is

TapThoq is a minimal iPhone app for quickly capturing thoughts by voice or short text. The app can use AI-assisted refinement to turn raw input into a cleaner note.

2. Notes on your iPhone

Your notes are stored locally on your iPhone. TapThoq is designed around local-first note storage.

3. AI-assisted refinement

When you use text or voice refinement, your text, audio, or generated transcript may be sent to TapThoq backend and an AI provider for processing.

TapThoq does not promise fully local AI processing. The refinement flow may require network processing outside your device.

4. Backend storage

TapThoq backend is not a permanent notes archive. It is a thin service layer used for request handling, AI provider access, basic abuse control, and operational reliability.

The backend may store limited technical metadata, such as install identifiers, request identifiers, request status, timestamps, counters, and error codes. This metadata is used to operate, protect, debug, and support the service.

5. Audio and temporary files

Voice processing may require temporary files while a request is being handled. Temporary processing files are not intended to become an audio archive and should be deleted after processing.

6. Logs

TapThoq aims to log technical metadata, not your personal note content. Logs may include request identifiers, endpoint names, status codes, durations, error codes, install identifiers, text length, transcript length, file size, or file type.

TapThoq does not intentionally log full note text, full transcripts, raw audio, API keys, or environment secrets.

7. Accounts

TapThoq v1 does not use user accounts. There is no account signup or login in the v1 app.

8. Selling data

TapThoq does not sell user data.

9. AI provider

TapThoq may use an external AI provider to process text, audio, transcripts, and related request data for refinement. That provider may process the data according to its own terms and privacy practices.
